I just installed the shifter today using your on-line "updated" instructions. The install of the other shifter in my brothers car should take less than the twenty minutes it took for me to put mine in... Very easy to do, provided you have a 13mm socket and wrench along with a flat tipped screwdriver.

i got the linkage yesterday (saturday) .... you really didnt have to send it overnight.. i was going to wait for it and stuff.. it would have been ok....... but thanks.. it feels awesome... the shifter is starting to grow on me... it feels much tighter in spots that didnt seem like i was in gear.. its great now...

Forgot to let you know I got my race shifter in the mail just last friday and got it installed a few days ago. Let me tell you: IT IS AWESOME. Miles better then the OEM and the original SS, I really love the positive shifts and the feel...it is so much better. Might not be the ideal shifter for everybody since effort is increased, but for me and a lot of car nut out there this is the cure for the VW shifter. Once I have more time I'll write a full review on your product on vwvortex.com and I'll let you know about it.

I installed the race short shifter and let me tell you that I love it, the shift are so short compared to the original one. you feel the shift a little more, but its a cool sensation. the throw is so much shorter, the side movements is so short also... everything about it is great. and it was really easy to install, no broken parts. thank you for a great part, especially an inexpensive one...

I did remember on the way home a part I'd probably be looking for in the next few weeks, it's just a replacement keyless remote..I dont have a part # but it's made by Clarion and looks like a key. I know potterman has had them before.. do you know how much it would cost?

I purchased one of your short shifters for my Jetta about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I still haven't sent back my core parts. I packed them up in the box but just have not sent it out.... it just crossed my mind. I'm going to send them back to you shortly, I just wanted to let you know so you can refund the $50 back onto my credit card. That shouldn't be a problem, right? BTW the unit is amazing, I love it! I drove a stock shifter on the same car the other day and was wondering how I ever put up with such insane shifts! :)

I just want to commend you on have a nice and WELL EXPLAINED website. I wish EVERY website posting how-to install sections for their parts were as well documented as yours is. I haven't even bought the short-shifter, but when I do, I'm getting if from you. The instructions sold me IMMEDIATELY on that. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for setting an example of how instructions should be listed. The front mount intercooler instructions that are for the ATP kit include less steps than your short shifter install instructions. There's something inherently wrong with that. Again, thanks for making it easy for us do-it-yourselfers!

I have a 98 jetta glx. I did a search regarding short shifters on google.com and u poped up in the results. I was then directed to vwvortex.com and check out reviews/comments they have on your shifter. They were all positive so i have decided to give your kit a try. The onlything i think that would make your kit better is making the throw adjustable. But for your price your kit cant be beat.

After ordering the shifter from you Monday, I was greatly looking forward to improved shifting. First of all I would like to thank you for such tremendously efficient service! Secondly, I have to say, you have an amazingly wonderful product! The installation was a breeze, almost no adjustments were necessary. Your online instructions are perfectly clear, and I am convinced that anyone with basic knowledge of what a wrench and ratchet look like could actually perform this switch. I actually have been working on cars for many years now and feel that it would be difficult to really top what you have done with this product. I don't know if I can say enough, other than thanks! I have packaged the core shifter and will soon have it on its way to you. Soon it will become another happy little converted shifter that will bring much joy to its next owner as the shifts will become MUCH crisper and predictable!
