Comparison picture between dieselgeek and evo mounting posts

The Dieselgeek Panzer Plate steel mounting post is the big black one at the top of the picture.  The competitor's mounting post is at the bottom.  As you can see, the Panzer post has a long flanged foot with two rivnut anchors while the competition just uses one rivnut as an anchor (lower right side of picture).  Having the flanged foot and two anchors allows the Panzer post to resist front or side loads to the skid plate.  The competitor’s post cannot effectively resist these loads.

The Dieselgeek Panzer posts were modeled directly from a factory VW mounting post.  The post itself is angled forward when mounted which allows it to take skid plate strikes as compression loads instead of bending loads like our competitor’s post. Notice the nice heavy washers used on the Panzer post.  Also, the two robust Grade 10.9 mounting bolts used on the Panzer posts are easily torqued with a standard torque wrench. The competitor’s post offers no effective way to tighten and torque the post AND if you want to remove the competitor’s post and the rivnut anchor decides to spin you will not be able to remove the post without damaging the car.
