What a Dieselgeek Panzer Skid Plate will do for you:

  • Give Peace of Mind. The stock belly pan offers no protection against broken oil pans.
  • Save you money. Replacing oil pans, stock belly pans or complete engines is expensive.
  • Save you time. Have you ever lost an oil pan? It is such a time wasting ordeal, especially on an Audi A4.
  • Protect the environment. Hundreds of gallons of motor oil is spilled on the road every year from broken Passat oil pans.
  • Keep snow and ice out of the engine bay.

Oil Changes:

TDI Passat owners can change their oil from the top of the engine bay since the oil filter is right up top. A Pela 6000 oil extraction device (or similar) may be purchased from oilchangekits.com to allow you to suck all of the used oil out of the dipstick tube. If you drive a gasoline model you will need to remove the Panzer Plate to change your oil as the oil filter is located at the bottom of the engine bay. Not to worry since removal and reinstallation of the Panzer Plate is easier than stock!

Ground clearance and total weight:

The Panzer Plate has as much ground clearance as the stock plastic belly pan. The Panzer Plate weighs in at only 12 pounds. It’s a must-have for any Passat owner!

Shipping:

$9.99 Supersaver FedEx Ground shipping to US addresses is now available (to lower 48 states). To get an exact shipping quote for international delivery, add the plate to the shopping cart, go to the shopping cart page and input your country, province and postal code and click "Get Shipping Options".

Repeat customer, need I say more? May 3, 2017
Reviewer: Dan Burwinkel from Newbury, VT
I live in Vermont on a dirt road. We have ice in the winter and mud in the spring. Rocks get pushed out of the roadbed into the road and protecting the alloy oil pan on my VW is critical. I bought my first Panzer Plate on the recommendation of a friend who also installed it. I bought my second one and had it installed by a local foreign car shop that oohed and aaahhhed over how easy it went on. They said that they had never seen an aftermarket skid plate that installed so easily. Thanks.

That fact that I know my oil pan is being protected by the plate makes it feel safe driving!

Love this! We live in the country and drive on rocky dirt roads. It is reassuring to have a solid "underpinning" that won't get ripped off on rough roads.sou

Maybe a redesign suggestion.... June 28, 2016
Reviewer: Victor Trunce from Long Island NY
I loved the idea of this with so much vulnerable equipment underneath this relatively low vehicle occasionally driving through NYC.
It was in the parking lot of Valley Forge that I took a speed bump a bit too fast. When the car came down it was the vent slots cut into the plate that cleanly punctured the oil pan like a Karate chop.
Maybe a freak accident and the result of worn struts but a slight adjustment to the design might be looked at.
